«Nice picture of a beautiful bike.» With these few words Erik sent me, from Sweden, a new photo of his Forgione, the bike he had come to collect in person in Gesualdo together with Christin.

This time the bike is on the other side of the Baltic Sea, on the west coast of the island of Gotland. Erik took part in Gotland360, an event that takes cyclists around the island with long days in the saddle: 420 km in three days.
When Erik first contacted me, his request was clear: a made-to-measure steel frame, built around his needs and his way of riding. I made it by hand with Silver Fillet Brazed joints, like all my frames.
For me, this is what a handmade bicycle is all about: building it is not enough, it has to be lived. From Irpinia, where Erik collected it, to the roads of Sweden, his Forgione keeps travelling, one kilometre after another.
If you want to know how this bicycle was born and how Erik and Christin's visit to Gesualdo went, read Erik's comment.
Thank you Erik, and happy riding!
