A few days ago I spent a whole day with Dan, who came all the way from Salt Lake City, with a driver and an interpreter, to visit Gesualdo in person and have his measurements taken for his new made-to-measure frame.

We started the morning chatting in the workshop: I showed him how I work, the steel tubes, the tools, and how every frame is born from a set of measurements and choices made together with the customer, not from a catalogue of sizes. Only later, once we had got to know each other better, did we move on to the technical part, and I took the first measurements for his frame.

At lunchtime Dan and his group already had a booking at a local agriturismo, so I didn't go with them, but in the early afternoon they came back to the workshop and we completed the measurements. Before saying goodbye we took a walk together around Gesualdo: a bit more conversation, with no hurry, with the village as our backdrop.

Dan and Vincenzo Forgione in the Gesualdo workshop
With Dan in my workshop in Gesualdo.

Thank you Dan for coming all the way from Salt Lake City to see me: it was a pleasure to host you in Gesualdo.

If you would also like to visit the workshop and see how a Forgione frame is born, write to me: you will find all my details on the Contacts page.
