This project objectively highlights that today with the brand new steel alloys complete bikes can be obtained with a weight that goes safely below the minimum limit allowed by the Italian Cycling Federation (FCI) and the Union cycliste internationale (UCI) which is 6800g. The components of the list are not exactly the lightest available on the market, therefore the weight can drop even beyond the minimum allowed limit if desired. This is the place to specify that the race to extreme lightness at all costs, even at the expense of safety, triggered the FCI's imposition to establish a minimum weight of 6,800g. Weight was introduced in 2000 by the UCI and evidently also reflects the state of technology of the time.Today the technologies have changed and certainly a steel frame with these characteristics and weight can abundantly guarantee both the mechanical and psychological safety of the athlete.

Who uses a bike like this
I use a 6.4 kg Superlight bicycle! What you see here is a photo of a few weeks ago in one of the outings that we organize with friends of the Forgione Telai group.
The sensations on this bicycle are always good and there is no sense of excessive lightness. I always feel safe even in curves at speed and I have the satisfaction of being able to lift the whole bicycle with one hand and without any effort
My "proof of concept" was perhaps to be tested on the road and there was nobody I could subcontract this mission to: I had to be the first to do it!
